Startup of Narbonne Commercial and Industrial Waste Sorting Facility

A new sorting line for Commercial and Industrial waste, Furniture waste and bulky household waste was started up on Monday, 13th November. The line includes an RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) preparation module, and can treat up to 60 000 tonnes yearly.

Designed and produced by Ar-Val for Suez at the Eco-pôle de Lambert for Narbonne Metropolitan Area, the new line is equipped with the latest generation of technology, including 4 Optical sorters. Designed to valorize waste by recycling or energy production, this line extracts and reuses the maximum of incoming waste.

As with all of Ar-Val’s sorting plants, this line includes measures to improve safety for sorting and maintenance operators, and to facilitate maintenance.

 

The foundation stone is laid for the future Materials Recovery Facility at Paris XVII

Construction of the SYCTOM de Paris’ new Materials Recovery Facility at Paris XVII has stared on Friday 10th November, with the placing of the foundation stone in Clichy-Batignolles Eco-District.

The ceremony was attended by Sébastien Lecornu, State secretary for the Minister of the Environment, by Jacques Gautier, President of the SYCTOM, the agency for waste management in the Paris metropolitan area, Stanislas Ancel, a member of the board of directors of CNIM and the Managing Director for the Environment and Energy, Bruno Léchevin, President of ADEME, Sophie Deschiens, Ile de France Regional Councillor special representative for the Circular Economy, Mao Péninou, Deputy Mayor of Paris and Yann Masson, Managing Director of Ar-Val.

According to Jacques Gautier, President of the Syctom “This Materials Recovery Facility will be operational by 2019, and will be the second placed by the SYCTOM within Paris itself. It will have a large capacity and will be entirely automated, and will prepare the waste household packaging produced by over 900 000 residents for recycling; a good answer to meet the challenges of the law for transition to green energy and the extension of sorting to all plastic packaging.

Ar-Val has just installed the first ZenRobotics Recycler in France

We will have to get used to it: robotics and high tech equipment will occupy our non-hazardous commercial and industrial waste sorting plants. With ZenRobotics Recycler, we are at the very beginning, and Robocop will have to stay out of trouble in our sorting plants. With its ZenRobotics Smart Gripper arm, this cute robot from tomorrow’s new world is already getting to grips with sustainable development and all the sorting tasks we ask of it. Pieces of wood, inert material, metal, rigid plastic, corrugated cardboard from the incoming flow of Non-hazardous commercial and industrial waste and construction waste, it can sort and extract all of it.

SMEDAR Rouen

SMEDAR Materials Recovery Facility, modernized by Ar-Val, was unveiled on 27th June 2017. A pilot plant for the extension of plastic sorting, the Materials Recovery Facility currently sorts 13 tonnes / hour, or 35 000 tonnes / year of source-separated municipal solid waste. Entirely automated, this highly mechanized plant includes six optical sorters and meets NF-X35-702 standards in order to provide better working conditions for operators.

SMED CITT Cannes Materials Recovery Facility

Modernized by Ar-Val and operated by Paprec, CITT Materials Recovery Facility in Cannes (France) was unveiled on 3rd February 2017.
Il can now sort 36 000 tonnes / year of source-separated municipal solid waste for SMED. It is equipped with the latest technologies, including nine optical separators. The new line allows the local authority to meet its objectives: more recycling, better recycling, lower cost recycling and improvement of working conditions for operators.

SMTD 64 Sévignac

SMTD 64 Materials Recovery Facility in Sévignac (France) was unveiled on 7th October 2017.
Innovative and very modern, the Materials Recovery Facility designed and produced by Ar-Val, treats 22 000 tonnes / year of source-separated municipal solid waste.
The sorting process includes a number of latest-generation machines, including six optical sorters and four ballistic separators.

A new Materials Recovery Facility for Valtris at Charleroi

Modernized by Ar-Val, Valtris Materials Recovery Facility at Charleroi (Belgium) began production in summer 2017. It currently sorts 8 tonnes / hour of waste packaging: plastic bottles and containers, metallic packaging and drinks containers.
With its highly automated sorting line, this Materials Recovery Facility is the largest and most modern in Wallonia.
